Welcome to Project Dog Food
At edgeofmyseat.com we spend all day building web applications that help our clients run their businesses better. This summer, we’ve decided to spend some time building our own web app to make running our own business better, and we’re hopeful that once we’re done, we’ll be able to make it available for you to use too.
The phrase eating one’s own dog food refers to developers using the software they’ve created themselves. As we’re building this for ourselves, and also aren’t quite ready to say exactly what it is we’re building, we thought that would be a good code name to go with. So welcome to Project Dog Food.
If you’re not prepared to say what you’re building, is this going to be a cryptic blog?
I love a good mystery, subscribed!

@Dave – maybe! We’ll try to keep it useful though.

Wait, you’re saying it’s going to be a dog’s dinner?

Bastard – you beat me by a clear 25 minutes! I knew I shouldn’t have stopped to play with my template settings…

I’ll be keeping an eye on this. Through RSS though, to avoid those nasty snapshot popups.

@David – oh yuck – thanks for pointing those out. I think I’ve managed to disable them. I’ve long since nulled the domain they load from in my local DNS, so I never see them myself. I hadn’t realised WP.com has them enabled by default – how obnoxious!
